This poor mother, what else was she to do?

Police shoot and kill Jacob Griffin of Nashville, a 23-year-old white male, after a 911 call he had a gun and was making threats to kill people, including his mother.

According to the 911 caller, who was also Jacob’s mother, her son had been calling and texting her all day that he would kill her and other people. She told the 911 operator that she didn’t want him shot by police but didn’t want him to kill anybody else, including her. “He is schizophrenic, and for about the last hour has been texting me messages that he plans to kill me and other people,” Karen Griffin told the dispatcher.

Since Goodwill had recently fired him and he was living in a homeless encampment behind the business, she called Nashville Police as she was afraid for her life and the lives of other innocent people.

After nearly five hours of negotiations, the man refused to drop his gun and come out of the wooded area he had been living in. He even decided to fire a shot, but the officers only responded to that with more negotiation.

As it started to get into the evening hours and darkness began to creep in, the officers decided to take a more direct approach to get the man in custody that included distraction devices such as flashbangs, the police K9 team, and hard foam rounds.

As officers started to move in, Mr. Griffin fired another shot from his pistol, which in turn caused a 15-year police veteran and member of the SWAT team to return fire hitting Griffin. Jacob Griffin passed at the hospital not long after being taken into custody.

This is part of a new series we are planning to start where we feature videos of police that we don’t necessarily hear about as it doesn’t fit the media’s or big tech narrative. Since this was a 23-year-old white male, we didn’t hear much about it.

What do you think, were the police justified in shooting this man? Let us know in the comment section below.
